Greek Island Hopping - Day 4 - Sleeping In

Getting to bed at 5:30am is a bit odd. Where does the night end and where does the day begin? Well, for me, I slept straight on through till 4pm. I woke up, headed to the pool bar and ordered a ham and cheese sandwich for breakfast. I spent the next few hours resting by the pool, jumping off a nearby dock for a swim in the Mediterranean, and then finished up the day with a walk on the beach and a quick game of water volleyball. One of the things I really liked about this place is the cool island breeze. Some people found it annoying, but I think without it, the temperature would be close to unbearable.   At night, we all met up at the hotel for an early dinner and then we had a mini pool party where people drank, danced, and partied the night away. Merlin wound up giving everyone lap dances. Around 2am people decided to go swimming in the ocean. I joined everyone on the beach but I didn’t wind up going swimming. I had visions of sharks just waiting out there for a bunch of people to go skinny dipping in the middle of the night. On the other hand, maybe I watch too many horror movies.

When I got back to the room, I started getting ready for bed. My roommate came in and told me that he wanted to have sex with this one girl, Nikki, on the trip. I was courteous albeit a bit annoyed but I let him use the room for awhile. I tried to sleep at Kristin and Jacquelyn’s place a few doors down, but as hard as I tried I couldn’t get any shut eye. Around 4am I headed back to my room and not caring whether they were done or not. Luckily they were passed out and I finally caught up on some much needed Z’s.

Greek Island Hopping - Day 3 - Mykonos

Waking up at 5 am sucks. We had to wake up this early to catch the early ferry to Mykonos. We left super early because apparently all of Europe had this month off and the Greek Islands were supposed to have record breaking crowds. Also, there was some religious holiday on another island where women would walk up a long steep hill on their knees while praying to Mary and it’s supposed to heal them of their ailments (all ailments including bad knees hopefully).

The ferry itself was like an airplane and we had these nice reserved seats that reclined similar to seats on an airplane. It’s a good thing we had the reserved seats because there were Europeans sprawled out all over the rest of the ship. The ride took 5 hours and I slept for most of it. Matt broke out his guitar and played music for our group. He sang this really funny song about a father catching his son masturbating. It’s called “talk to me” which was quite an appropriate title – even some of the Greeks on board laughed.

When we arrived in Mykonos, we took a bus to our resort, Aphrodite Resort and Hotel. I spent a few hours relaxing by the pool but then we had to get ready for the optional excursion I paid for called “A Night in Mykonos”. Read More...
